*SPT-1 and SPT-2 refer to the thickness of the insulation surrounding the stranded copper wire. Generally speaking, SPT-1 easily slips through 1/8 IP lamp pipe, SPT-2 does not easliy slip 1/8 IP pipe. Please reference U.L. guidlines for appropriate applications for SPT-1 and SPT-2 rated lamp cord.
